Step 2: Drop different colour food colouring in the centre of the milk
Step 3: Dip an earbud in fairy liquid

World Book Day

World Book Day was lots of fun! The Reception Class theme was bedtime stories so the children came to school in their pyjamas. They made puppets, did a word hunt, made books, played word games, read on the computer and much much more!

Rainbow Factory

Stepping into a world of imagination!
Children in Reception had a great time at Rainbow Factory, Leeds. They listened to an amazing story by a story-teller , dressed up as characters, played fun games to help the giant find his gems and even worked with an artist to tell their own stories and create their own characters.

Foodstival 2019

Some of our Year 2&3 students took part in the foodstival hosted by Food Bank Dewsbury. The children loved making healthy treats and learned about eating healthy. This was followed by fun activities which the children eagerly took part in.

Fired Art&Design

Year 5 visited Fired Art Design, Pontefract for their trip.
The students learned the art of pottery and clay making and immensely enjoyed making their own beautifully decorated clay plaques.

Police Visit

Thank you to PC Luke and PC Carol (of West Yorkshire Police, Dewsbury) for visiting our Reception Class. The children were extremely excited to meet the police officers and enjoyed the talk and activities about roadsafety and stranger danger.

Ripon Museum

For their trip to Ripon Museum, the Year 6 class visited the Courthouse and Prison & Police Museums.
In the courthouse they got an opportunity to take part in a historic trial in a Georgian Courthouse, and dressed their part as a defendent, clerk of court, magistrate, member of the jury, witness and court reporter.
At the Prison & Police Museum, the children did a role-play based on the story of notorious poachers and their arrest. They had a fun time dressing up and using the props of early policing and learnt how the police force and transportation was set up.

Barnfield Care Home

As part of National Storytelling Week, some of our children went to Barnfield Care Home to read to the elderly residents. They had a wonderful time reading stories of their choice and enjoyed their time speaking and sharing memories.

Magna

The Year 4's had an amazing time exploring the wonders of Science, Technology, Design and Industrial history at Magna Museum
They were excited to visit the four pavilions dedicated to the elements of air, earth, fire & water, where they got to witness a fire tornado and the big melt. As well as this, they also had a successful attempt at making their own hot air balloon!

Congratulations to our students for winning the imagination Gaming Inter-School tournament at Dewsbury Library. A brilliant day full of mind boggling puzzles, problem solving & quick thinking games. The children were very enthusiastic and learnt many new skills.

Bikeability

The Bikeability scheme for KS2 helps build up the skills and confidence of children that can and can't ride a bicycle.
the Year 6 students were taught The Highway Code for Cyclists and implemented this whilst being taken for a session outside of school.

The Year 3 children had a fun educational trip at National Coal Mining Museum where they learnt many new exciting facts and explored how the miners would work. They descended 140m underground to discover the harsh realities of coal mining through the centuries.
