Little Red Riding Hood 03&04/11/2021

Children have enjoyed this week’s story and demonstrated a huge interest in the different activities available.

One of the activities they really enjoyed was creating baskets ๐Ÿงบ by exploring various materials, resources and techniques. Their task was to create a strong basket.
Children experimented by placing a variety of food items to see which would hold the most weight. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡
This was linked to the story of Little Red Riding Hood and children were encouraged to talk about who they would take their basket of food for.
We talked about the importance of visiting the sick and discussed that Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. used to visit the sick no matter whether they were Muslim or not – regardless of their beliefs.
We talked about the story where Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. visited a lady when she became sick, although she used to disrespect him and throw rubbish in his path everyday.
We discussed the importance of following this sunnah, looking out for others, showing kindness and respect towards people of all beliefs.
During carpet time, children were introduced to the dua which is read when visiting the sick, they were encouraged to practise reciting the dua in their role play.
