Great Fire Of London June- July 2021

This week we have been learning about The Great Fire of London and the children have been fascinated with the events. We created fire pictures using different media, drew maps of London, created mini books and drew houses from that time. We talked about how there was no fire service and then compared fire engines from today to those in the past. We talked about how Samuel Pepys wrote about the fire in his diary and we made portraits looking at his images. The children particularly enjoyed the quiz where I gave statements and children had to decide if they were true or false and write their answer on the white board and then show the class. The children remembered the main events very well!
